BANASURA SAGAR DAM

BANASURA SAGAR DAM: Asia's second largest and Kerala's biggest dam made up of mud and stone alone.From distance it looks like a hill.It is required to walk around one kilometer to reach the top.

some times you may forced to hug together to stand against strong wind.













Speed boat is available.


Due to strong wind it was very difficult for me to zoom my lens.








For children ,a play ground is arranged in a good manner.

EDACKAL CAVE

EDACKAL CAVE: a place where our history is written on rocks using symbols.Cave is located in the middle of this rocky hill,which is not possible to locate from distance.













Entrance to the cave, narrow,need to wait till one batch exit from the cave.













Way to the cave are separated with gates to control visitors and avoid rush.

Edackal cave is situated in Vayanadu district of Kerala.Physical fitness is needed to climb the hill.Best season is Decebber to March. the cave is open to public from 9 am t0 5 pm on all days except Monday.

VAZHANI DAM

Vazhani dam-A dam made up of mud and stone alone,second largest of its kind in Kerala.Front view is above.Dam has no shutters.It is located near Vadakkancherry,Thrissur.

Uravappara is big rock about 100 meter hight ,more than one kilometer in length and about 50 meter wide on the average.Not easy to climb during monsoon. Main attraction is a temple-Temple of god Murugan(Subrahmanian).The annual festival is on Thi-Pongal(february) and the temple is open on the first date of every malayalam month.



















Uravappara is located near Thodupuzha,Idukki district Kerala. Those who like trekking can opt this place for an exciting evening
